TV star comes under fire for hoping Taylor Swift doesn't marry 'idiot' Travis Kelce
A TV show host has hit out at Travis Kelce for some of his old tweets that have resurfaced, which she sees as problematic.
Joy Behar who is one of the hosts of The View has said that she thinks that Travis Kelce is “illiterate” after finding his “disparaging comments” from a decade ago. She had a few choice words about him and said that she didn’t approve of his relationship with Taylor Swift.
Travis Kelce is … problematic?
Discussing it with her fellow panelists, such as Hollywood legend Whoopi Goldberg, Joy read some of the posts she had found: “Here’s one of his [tweets], ‘Damn, the Clippers girls gotta be the girls that don’t make the Lakers team ’cause they was all ugly.'”
Other old tweets from Travis Kelce were in similar vain, commenting on women’s appearance: “Why can’t girls hide they back fat?” and “I feel like if you want to be a cheerleader, you have to pass a beauty test. There’s too many ugly cheerleaders out here.”
The TV presenter went on to say that she “loves” Taylor but said that Travis is an “idiot.”

“I’m a Swiftie. I love her because she’s getting young people out to vote, so I don’t want her to be stuck with this idiot.”
Others come to his defense
Whoopi Golderg was quick to ask the 81-year-old to “high school boy who hasn’t said something stupid about girls” and said that the 33-year-old may have changed his view, considering Travis Kelce’s tweets are 10 or more years old.
The celebrity said: “Young people do young people stuff. What you said 25 years ago, may not be the way that you feel this time.”
The movie star continued, saying that people should leave the celebrity couple alone. “Everybody needs to lighten up and let these people do what they want to do.”
Alyssa Farah Griffen agreed with Whoopi, reminding Joy that “We documented everything.”
“You gotta give people a little grace and hope that the way he treats women now is reflective of how he is as an adult.”
Travis Kelce’s old tweets resurface
Joy may have found comments from the sportsman that aren’t very palatable, but social media has been alive with fans sharing much tamer and amusing tweets from the early 2010s.
Tweets included “I just gave a squirle a piece of bread, and it straight smashed all of it!!!!” and “I had no idea they ate bread like that!! Haha #crazy.”
This is where Joy may have decided that Travis was “illiterate” considering his misspelling of “squirrel.”
Other tweets by the then 22-year-old read: “Its such a nice day out….. as I stair from my math class… smh #mustbenice” and “The moon looks crazy tonight… Imma chill out here for a little and just visualise my success n vibe to the scenary.”
Travis hasn’t addressed the tweets – good or bad – yet, and we’re not sure if he will. His X (formerly Twitter) use has gotten less and less. It’s probably all that PDA.
