The Walking Dead star was convinced he was 'going to die' after accident on set

Actor Norman Reedus faced multiple accidents and a horrifying one occurred on the set of The Walking Dead.

For the TV heartthrob Norman Reedus, accidents are nothing new. The Hollywood icon received a major brain injury when he was just starting his acting career. The 55-year-old celebrity suffered the accident after leaving a R.E.M. concert at the Berlin Film Festival. He was leaving in a car provided by none other than Michael Stipe when an 18-wheeler went right through them.

“I went out the window into the street unconscious. Woke up upside down with this big German lady wiping glass out of my face,” the star shared.

Norman Reedus suffered a concussion on The Walking Dead set

The Walking Dead set turned out to be a dangerous spot for Reedus, who faced a major concussion while filming the finale of the drama. The accident ended up pushing the filming days as Norman had to heal before coming back to acting.

At the time, a press release from the actor’s PR revealed: “He is recovering well and will return to work soon. Thank you to everyone for their concern.” But the seriousness of the injury was mostly hidden from the public.

Recalling the accident, the Hollywood legend said: “Oh dude, that was horrible,” adding, “That whole ordeal for me personally was terrifying. I thought I was going to die.”

It was scary

For Norman, who has gone through several scary accidents, this one topped the list. The actor shared: “It was very serious. It was scary. I’ve been hit in the face and the head a million times. I’ve gone through car windows, but that one rung my bell.”

The accident also led to precautionary tests. “I had a neurologist. I had all sorts of s—. I failed the light test. I had a security guard in the driveway, just in case. I was holding onto the walls walking through the rooms. It was nuts,” he added.

The actor’s complicated medical history made it worse for him. “I have headaches already because I have a metal eye socket and light sometimes affects me in weird ways,” the actor admitted.
