Prosecutor Marcia Clark has just 8 words to say after OJ Simpson's death
Lead prosecutor Marcia Clark who tried to convict OJ Simpson in the famous 1994 murder trial has responded to the athlete’s death.
The now 70-year-old was one of the lawyers who tried to convince a jury OJ Simpson had murdered his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman. However, after an almost year-long trial, which was also played out in the media, the jury deliberated for just three hours and acquitted the celebrity. The NFL star was acquitted over the charges in 1995, but was later found guilty of wrongful death and battery against Goldman in a civil suit two years later. Marcia Clark handed in her resignation after the OJ Simpson trial, and didn’t look back.
Marcia Clark didn’t ‘go to work’ the day OJ Simpson was acquitted

The prosecutor took a leave of absence after the famous trial, which took over front pages and news broadcasts for 11 months.
Marcia Clark said on the day OJ Simpson was acquitted by the jury, in just three hours, she was ‘numb’.
She said: “I didn’t go to work that day.
“I didn’t have to. The case was over. I got the kids off to school. I drove up the coast to meet my friend for lunch. I was numb. I wanted relief.”
She resigned from her position in 1997.
Marcia added: “I couldn’t even think of going back there. The misery was so profound. The only thing I wanted was, ‘Get me away from there’ — the ugliness I had been through. When my overtime and vacation time ran out, I had my office packed up. I never went back.”
When she heard of the news of OJ’s death yesterday, she gave Entertainment tonight a short statement.
She simply said: “I send my condolences to Mr. Simpson’s family.”
Nothing more, nothing less.
OJ’s ‘trial of the century’ became a TV show

The ‘trial of the century’ had gripped viewers 30 years ago, but it did the same again in 2016 when it was re-enacted for FX’s American Crime Story: The People v OJ Simpson.
The limited series starred Cuba Gooding Jr as the athlete, as well as John Travolta as one of his lawyers, Robert Shapiro.
Friends star David Schwimmer played Robert Kardashian Snr – the father to the famous reality TV family. American Horror Story Sarah Paulson played Marcia Clark in the OJ Simpson drama, and Sterling K Brown portrayed her co-prosecutor Christopher Darden.
OJ Simpson passed away on April 10, his family confirmed yesterday.
“On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren,” the Simpson family said in a statement.
“During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace.”
The star had only told fans his ‘health was good’ two months ago. It also comes after he was reportedly seen using a walking cane out in Las Vegas, and saying ‘all is well’ in his final posts.
