Josh Peck's savage reply to Drake Bell's text on his wedding day hurts

Drake and Josh shaped many childhoods when it was on air from 2004 to 2007. Although those hearts broke when we found out the two weren’t as close as we’d hoped. In 2017, the internet exploded when we saw Bell tweet about not being invited to Peck’s wedding, and the savagery continued.

As Josh Peck celebrates his 37th birthday (we can’t believe it either), we look at what he had to say about the savage text messages he received from his former TV co-star on his big day.

Josh Peck’s ‘savage’ response to Drake Bell’s text messages

Up until 2017, all was good in fans’ minds, thinking the two had the same bromance they did on the show in real life.

However, one day we all saw Drake’s tweets on X, formerly known as Twitter on the day of his former co-star’s wedding.

In posts that have now been deleted, Bell penned: “When you’re not invited to the wedding the message is clear… True colors have come out today… Ties are officially cut. I’ll miss you brotha.”

And it didn’t stop there. In March 2022, Peck appeared on the BFFs Podcast and revealed his former ‘brother’ had been “cursing him out” over text on his wedding night.

“Cut to — I’m getting married that night and I see these text messages from him, like, cursing me out.”

Josh then went on to savagely respond on the pod, as he said: “And it’s delusional because I’m like, ‘Bro, we worked at Coffee Bean when we were 16. I’m sorry, I’m 31 now. I might’ve lost your number.'”

He also admitted he and Drake hadn’t spoken for “many, many years,” which was the reason for not inviting him.

However, it wasn’t all bad blood as Josh said that he’ll forever be proud of his and Drake’s Nickelodeon success, but finds it unfortunate that the drama unfolded “the way that it did.”

Drake also showed his love for Josh in an interview with Digital Spy, where he said:  “At the end of the day I frickin’ love the kid more than anything. There’s nobody in this industry, in this business that I share the long-lasting and connecting relationship with. At the end of the day, he’s my brother.”

The duo reunited a month after ‘those’ tweets

Just a month after the drama, the duo reunited at the MTV Video Music Awards. They posted a cute picture on Instagram, hugging. Of course, referring to the iconic “HUG ME BROTHER” line from the hit show in the caption.

All was well in the world again, or not. On the pod, Josh revealed that he went up to Bell, telling him to “apologize to his wife right now,” which he did.

The Oppenheimer star revealed that was “pretty much” the last communication they had.

However, as per E! News, Drake’s wife Janet, had a different story. In a now-deleted Instagram video after the podcast release, she reportedly said: “And we actually hung out after that, multiple times. We’ve talked multiple times since then. So like, you’re a f****** liar. A f****** liar, Josh.”
