EmRata's marriage confession low-key supports Sophie Turner in Jonas divorce drama

Emily Ratajkowski has taken to social media to share her thoughts on getting divorced under the age of 30, as news of Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner’s divorce shocks the internet.

The Hollywood star ended her four-year marriage to her former husband Sebastian Bear-McClard in the summer of 2022. Similar to Turner, Emily had welcomed a son with her husband a year prior. At the time of divorce, she was 31.

Emily Ratajkowski says she finds divorce ‘chic’

Taking to TikTok, the best-selling author gave her thoughts on getting divorced by the age of 30, as Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner confirmed their divorce. Joe, is currently 34, whilst Sophie is 27.

“It seems that a lot of ladies are getting divorced before they turn 30,” the model told the camera. “As someone who got married at 26, has been separated for a little over a year, 32, I have to tell you. I don’t think there’s anything better.

“Being in your 20s is the trenches, there’s nothing better than being in your 30s, still being hot, maybe having a little of your own money, figuring out what you want to do with your life, and having tried that married fantasy and realizing that it’s maybe not all it’s cracked up to be,” she continued.

“And then you have your whole life still ahead of you,” she concluded, seemingly reflecting on her marriage with her ex-husband.

The star then offered her “congratulations” to anyone who was stressed about being divorced. And it seems like she herself has been having fun since her marriage ended, with a number of romances in the public eye, firstly with comedian, Pete Davidson and then, Eric Andre.

She also lived out every woman’s dream when she was spotted sharing a kiss with One Direction heartthrob, Harry Styles.

Emily, who almost ‘risked’ a wardrobe malfunction with her latest red carpet appearance, then went on to further talk about her own experiences in the comments, as one fan penned: “I skipped the marriage part and just stayed single.”

The 32-year-old model then replied: “Good for you, wish I was that wise! I personally wouldn’t have understood marriage and would’ve worried about what I was missing in my 30s.”

In the caption of the video, she wrote: “Personally I find it chic to be divorced by the age of 30.”

Fans agree with the model’s statement

Although Em may have known the post could be controversial to some, it seems like most of the comments were positive, with many women agreeing with her statement.

“You’re so real for this,” wrote one.

“Being single in your 30s is ELITE (typing this from my hotel in Paris,” penned one follower.

Another fan who could relate to the situation shared: “Divorced at 29 and it’s awesome being in my 30s and not being in the relationship”.

“I called off my wedding 2 weeks before when I was 23 & started living! Met my husband at 31 & married at 34. Ladies live ur life! Marry later!” exclaimed another.

However, others stated that it wasn’t ‘about the age’ but rather, who you marry: “It ain’t about the age with marriage, it’s who you pick and how well you as a person understand yourself and your partner.”

Others just took to the comments to mourn the relationship of Sophie and Joe, which, we understand.
