Emotional Baggage requires help | South China Morning Post
After a brief hiatus last year, the American Community Theatre (ACT) is again up and running. It has found itself a new artistic director in performer Arvin Robles and put out an audition call for its May production of a series of short plays collectively entitled Emotional Baggage. The open casting will take place on Thursday at the Fringe Club, Fotogalerie Room A, from 8pm.
'It will be a busy year,' says Robles. 'We're aiming to further broaden ACT's appeal by staging a wide range of productions. This year alone, we're conducting improvisation workshop series for adults and children, Broadway revues, a full-length straight drama, a full-length contemporary musical, a family production and community performances.'
As for Emotional Baggage, they're looking for a variety of actors, both male and female aged 15 and up. 'They're all short plays and one acts. Some of them are satirical, some slapstick, with occasional gripping moments.'
